Every 4th of July, millions of Americans enjoy the countless fireworks displays that light up the night skies across the country. Unfortunately, there are also thousands of people who end up getting hospitalized each July due to firework-related injuries, ranging from minor burns to dismemberment, and even death. Here in New York, it is illegal to shoot off fireworks without a permit - in major part due to the serious safety issues involved with properly lighting fireworks.
