Shark Week on Long Island: What to Know About Sharks in Our Waters



This weekend marked the beginning of Shark Week - the Discovery Channel's annual celebration of all things shark-y! Although locals do not typically associate shark encounters with Long Island's sandy shores, there have been numerous occasions where sharks have been spotted along our coasts - a twenty six footer washed up in Babylon just last year!
